Iridium 9555 — firmware
Firmware versions and the update procedure for the Iridium 9555 family — the 9555A and 9555N, and the original 9555.
Firmware updates are done at the user's risk. It is important to follow the instructions precisely to minimise the risk of damage.
Do not proceed until you have identified the model you have. Always review the firmware documents to make sure a release is suitable for your exact model of equipment.
Which model do you have?
Check the model on the label under the battery, and confirm the current firmware on the handset under Menu → Setup → Phone Information.
- Iridium 9555A and 9555N — use firmware HT25003
- Original Iridium 9555 (model IRID0015, non-A) — use firmware HT19002, the final release for this model — later releases dropped support for it
Iridium 9555A and 9555N — firmware HT25003
Firmware HT25003 (November 2025) is the current release and includes the fix for the January 2026 Iridium time re-epoch. The upgrade tool has been tested with Windows 11.

Running the update
Having the firmware ready is a two-stage process: download the firmware, then unzip it. Then follow the instructions in the PDF included with the download. You will need to connect the computer to the Iridium 9555 via the USB cable.
