What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file your browser stores on behalf of a website. We use a small number of them and none for advertising.

Strictly necessary

Set automatically, because the site cannot work without them. These are exempt from consent.

• session_id (satphone.co.uk, 7 days). Keeps your basket together and, if you log in, keeps you signed in to your customer account on the shop pages.
• frontend_lang (satphone.co.uk, 1 year). Remembers the language of the shop pages.
• tz (satphone.co.uk, session). Your time zone, so order times display correctly.
• website_cookies_bar (satphone.co.uk, 1 year). Records the choice you make in the cookie banner.
• Stripe (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid). Our payment provider sets these during checkout to prevent fraud. They are used only for that purpose.

Optional

Set only if you accept them in the banner.

• Live chat. Our chat is provided by Crisp IM SAS (France). It sets crisp-client/session and crisp-client/socket cookies (up to 6 months) so your conversation stays open as you move between pages and visits.
• Campaign attribution. odoo_utm_source, odoo_utm_medium and odoo_utm_campaign (31 days) are set only when you arrive from a link carrying campaign tags, so we can tell which adverts and emails bring people to the site.
• Analytics. Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement set _ga and _ga_* (up to 2 years), _gid (24 hours) and _gcl_au (3 months). We use them to see which pages are useful, where the site is breaking, and which adverts lead to orders.

We do not use remarketing cookies, and we do not load Facebook or similar trackers.

Controlling cookies

• Banner. Choose when you first visit. Change your mind at any time via “Cookie preferences” in the footer.
• Browser. Modern browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop the basket and checkout working.

Updates

We update this page whenever our cookie use changes.
