The African Prepay Tariff provides the greatest value to subscribers who makes calls from the Iridium phone on land in Africa — though it does not work outside the region.

The African Prepay Tariff is tailored to provide the greatest value to subscribers who makes calls from the Iridium phone when the handset is located in the Africa region. This includes the whole African continent, a full list of Countries is detailed below. Calls made from within the African region to any other Country in the world (Africa or outside) offer the best value at a price of £0.84/minute. Please note calls cannot be made when the Iridium handset is located outside the African region (this includes offshore in African coastal waters).

Please be aware that you cannot transfer minutes from the African tariff onto any of the Global prepaid tariffs.

Please note that satellite telephones require a direct line of sight from the antenna to the satellite. Therefore, phones do not work inside buildings or vehicles unless used with an external antenna. Service in outdoor locations with trees, hills, mountains, buildings or other similar structures or geographical features may impair or prevent the use of satellite communication equipment.
