Thuraya - Pre Pay ECOSIM Card
ECO SIM Features
- Valid for 1 year
- Use prepaid scratch cards to top up

- The SIM will only work in certain countries (please see list below). The SIM will NOT work outside of these countries
ECO SIM Renewal Fee
- 5 Units annual renewal fee
Renewal fee automatically removed from your prepaid balance.
Expiry reminder messages are sent every alternate day during
the 15 days prior to the account expiry date.
If enough balance is not found in your account, a grace period
of 30 days is granted. In this period your account will be
automatically renewed if you refill your account with the
required amount.
Note: You will not be able to make calls during this grace
period. But, you will be able to receive calls.
The account is finally closed after the grace period only
if response is not received.
Credit Validity
Please note that the credit has an independent validity to the SIM card
- Each scratch card has a corresponding credit amount which customer can consume within the credit validity period, 80 units = 5 months, 160 units = 12 months.
- Credit validity is cumulative. Maximum credit validity is 18 months.
- Upon credit expiry, balance in account will be reset to zero.

Hard to Reach Places are defined by Thuraya as (Please note
that this list is subject to change at the sole discretion
of Thuray) : Ascension, Cook Is., Cuba, Diego Garcia, Falkland
Islands, Globalstar, Greenland, Inmarsat A, B,
M & mini M, Iridium, Kiribati, Montserrat, Nauru Is., Niue,
Papua New Guinea, Somoa Western, Sao Tome, Solomon Is., St.
Helena, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna
*Text messages can only be sent to other Thuraya
handsets and email address, they cannot be sent to GSM networks.
Equivalent per minute rate. Calls are billed
in whole units.
NB.You can only send a text message from a prepaid
Thuraya SIM to a GSM network with a roaming agreement with Thuraya.
You can receive text messages and calls from GSM networks.
Incoming calls while the handset is in GSM
mode are charged at standard rate, although please be aware
that it is not possible to make outgoing calls or send SMS.
After purchase of an ECO Sim your first call
must be made within 6 months otherwise the sim will be de-activated.
