FleetBroadband is the first maritime communications service to provide cost-effective broadband data
and voice, simultaneously, through a compact antenna on a global basis.
FleetBroadband takes your vessel into the IP era. But if you're not quite ready to move to IP, it still supports the core ISDN capability of our existing services.
Based on 3G standards, it provides constant, simultaneous access to voice and broadband data.
Operational systems can be running online and you can still access email, the internet
and make phone calls - all via a single terminal.
Two units are available, with different performance capabilities and size:
FB250
Offers Standard IP up to 284kbps and Streaming IP up to 128kbps. Antenna is 25cm in diameter.
FB500
Offers Standard IP up to 432kbps and Streaming IP up to 256kbps. Antenna is 50 cm in diameter.
Both terminals are designed specifically for the marine environment and also support voice, fax and SMS.
Coverage
Currently coverage over the Indian and Atlantic Ocean regions, global coverage pending successful launch of the third I4 satellite in 2008.

Please note that satellite telephones require a direct line of sight from the antenna to the satellite.
Therefore, phones do not work inside buildings or vehicles unless used with an external antenna. Service in outdoor locations with trees, hills, mountains, buildings or other similar structures or geographical features may impair or prevent the use of satellite communication equipment.
Please note that text messaging service on satellite phones may not be possible to terrestrial mobile phones
